Thanks to Frankie's travels throughout Latin America and our passion for Mexican cuisine, we have developed one of the best homemade guacamole recipes that you can enjoy in dishes like our Nachos Frankie (corn totopos dipped in cheddar cheese, chili con carne, sour cream, homemade guacamole and pico de gallo) or in La Guaka burger (180 grams of beef with homemade guacamole, cheddar cheese and chipotle sauce).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this post we tell you how to make authentic homemade guacamole and a few tricks for a delicious recipe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guacamole: an easy-to-prepare international sauce<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The avocado is a tree native to Mexico and is one of the healthiest foods because it has many properties. It is an excellent source of healthy fats, potassium and fiber. It also stands out for its high levels of vitamins C, E, K and B-6. It also has a very mild flavor and texture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the most common avocado recipes is guacamole, an easy-to-prepare international salsa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make it at home you only need: avocado, red onion, cilantro, salt and lime. It is common to enjoy this sauce with Mexican food in different types of meat, tacos, tortas or tortilla chips; although you can also enjoy it, for example, in a burger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The original recipe was made with avocados, tomato and chili. Over the years and as it has spread throughout the world, other ingredients, such as those mentioned above, have been added to enhance its flavor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to prepare homemade guacamole<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Although you can buy it ready-made at the supermarket, guacamole is always better when prepared at home. It is an easy and simple recipe since it requires few ingredients and no cooking: it will only take you 15 minutes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main ingredient is the avocado, so you have to choose the tastiest and ripe ones. The onion is another of the main ingredients; at Frankie Burgers we bet on red onion, finely chopped. Prepare the lime juice. With the lime do as with the salt, adjust to taste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If there is one ingredient that is a must in an authentic guacamole, it is cilantro. To give it a real aroma, use a very fresh cilantro, finely chopped. Finally, add salt to taste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Frankie Burgers we are committed to artisanal processes in all our elaborations; therefore, we encourage you to prepare the guacamole in a mortar or in a large bowl with a fork. Mix and mash all the ingredients until they are well blended and the desired texture is achieved. Never mash the guacamole to get the chunks to show through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frankie Burgers' Homemade Guacamole<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As we mentioned before, the original recipe was made with avocados, tomatoes and chili. You can also prepare your guacamole with other ingredients such as jalape\u00f1os, tabasco or dried tomatoes in oil. With the passage of time and the spread of this sauce throughout the world's cuisine, there is no single recipe and you can allow yourself licenses to your taste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Frankie Burgers we opted for avocado, red onion, cilantro, salt and lime. Very basic ingredients but very good. To enhance the flavor of the guacamole and add a spicy touch, we use jalape\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have told you that avocados are the main ingredient but in the Frankie Burgers kitchen we have the secret to an authentic homemade guacamole: a good proportion of salt and lime. Although it may seem very simple, its incorporation into the preparation is key to not detract from the flavor of the guacamole. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
